Empowerment technology is a subject those deals with the use of different technologies such as mobile phones, telephone, computer and other devices to locate, save, communicate and to inform. This subject will help us to grow our understanding by the use and about technology. Empowerment technology is very important to learn because in this generation technology is very useful in our daily lives.
When I encountered this subject I gained a lot of knowledge from beginning until now. ICT change my view, before when I was in junior high school I don’t know what ICT is, but as we go on in the discussion I gradually realize that ICT has a very important role to promote and to developed progress in our nations. ICT helps us students with our assignments, projects and even for searching information. It is not just for schooling purposes but it also for work especially on those people who are involved in business. ICT can make our lives easier because with just one click all the information’s you want to find can easily access. We need to learn and have knowledge about ICT in order for us to know what is the advantages and disadvantages of using it and to learn a lot about technology.
After going through the lessons and visiting online sites, that I am using now and I should say the used of it is very creative. We can easily give and gained information to others by just giving details in our site. I agree on how the site used because it is also one of the effective ways use to spread and sharing information.
The different tools that we have used in our subject are very valuable and beneficial which it is mostly used to meet our higher goals. Ms Word is one of a tool those students usually used, Where it is a popular word-processing program that is use basically for creating a document such as letters, articles, brochures, etc. And the Ms PowerPoint which allows us to create slide shows to support presentation that can combine texts and graphics. It is also used by the students and teachers mostly in reporting as a visual aide.
In this semester, one of the performance tasks that I have enjoyed is when we start to create our campaign which called ” Cease the online habit: Internet Addiction Awareness Campaign”. Internet addiction is one of the issues in our community that needs to resolve. Our mission is to develop an organization that will start movement of change in our community. As an advocate, our campaign aims to spread an awareness that using an internet often can lead you to an addiction to the point that you can’t forget to do your task just like in school and in home that can affect physical and mental health. As days passed by we witness on how our campaign effective is, where more people are interacting with us using our Facebook page and I’m very happy because we didn’t expect that many people interested in it.
In this subject I learned a lot of things that I do not understand, even though sometimes it is hard for us to understand some lessons but if we give an effort for this subject to learned, we will be gained a lot that is important for us to know. Empowerment technology will help our knowledge to grow. Maybe our semester will be ended here but the journey of ICT will never stop educating the youth.
